Care Groups (or do we change to Life Groups?)

At NKMB community happens when people get together in small groups, get to know each other and have intentional times of encouragement and spiritual growth together.  These groups can be home Bible studies, teams who serve together, mentoring relationships that happen over coffee or groups that form in our men's and women's ministry settings.  What they all have in common is a desire to grow in faithfulness to Jesus.

If you would like to get connected to a small group, please contact

"but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."

Ephesians 4:15-16

"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court."

Psalms 127:3-5

Q:What should I wear?

A: Anything from casual to semi-formal is the norm at NKMB due to our diverse church family, and yes shorts and sandals are fine in the summer.

Q: Will anyone stare at me if I wear jeans?

A: No, unless they are really nice jeans.

Q: What if I arrive late?

A: Just quietly walk in and find a seat. If the sanctuary appears full, feel free to ask an usher for assistance.

Q: Is there assigned seating?

A: No. Sit wherever you want.

Q: Do I need to speak German to attend here?

A: If you do then some of our Pastors are in trouble. As the congregation at NKMB includes many members who were raised with German as their primary language, we do offer a dedicated German language ministry that includes a full worship service at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. Other programming however, including our 11am worship service and youth & children's ministry is in English.

Q: What do I do during Communion?

A: Approximately once month we celebrate Communion, also known as the Lord's Supper, during our Sunday Service., Our method of celebration involves cubes of bread and small cups of grape juice distributed to the congregation by the caregivers. Participation is open to all who are committed Christ followers and are in a healthy relationship with their church family, be it ours or another. Please feel free to simply pass the plate along if you do not feel this is you.

Q: What does Sunday School for all ages mean?

A: Children & youth attend classes organized by age, while a number of options are available for adults including video series, lecture style classes, & discussion groups. All Sunday School Classes take place from 9:30 - 10:30 am before the 11:00 am worship service. Please ask the ushers for directions in the foyer. note: Sunday School options run from September - May.

Q: Do I need to sign up ahead for anything?

A: Children Grade 6 & under attending Sunday School must be registered by parent/guardian at the Children’s Ministry Table in the foyer for their protection.

Q: Is childcare available during the service?

A: Childcare is available for children during the service. For more information please consult the Children's Ministry desk in the foyer. Childcare is available from September - May. A room for nursing mothers is also available, and a video feed of our service is broadcast in the foyer for those "special" moments when you feel the need to walk with your child out of the sanctuary.

Q: What kind of music do you play?

A: The musical worship at NKMB is intentionally designed to encourage the congregation to participate in singing. Whether we are singing newer worship songs or traditional hymns, our worship leaders strive for excellence in welcoming the congregation to be a part of what is happening on stage. On most Sundays you can expect to see a full band (guitars, bass, drums, piano) and many singers leading, although sometimes we do switch things up and try something different!

Q: Will I need earplugs to enjoy this music?

A: No. We keep our volume levels at a safe & comfortable level for all. (avg. 90db "C" scale for the audiophiles out there)

Q: Where can I find information about church programming when visiting on a Sunday morning?

A: Along the north wall of the foyer you will find a bulletin board featuring upcoming church events along with a video monitor with service information. Our Welcome Centre is located on the center of the foyer.

Our Hope is…

Knowing that we still have a long way to go to become like Jesus, and needed a lot of God’s grace and forgiveness along the way, we are a Church striving to become people who are known to be…

Loving, Forgiving, Faithful, Humble, Generous, Honest, Truthful, Biblical.

We are a Member of the Mennonite Brethren Churches of Canada. To see our Confession of Faith, please see:

We are the youth!

We love our students! They have embraced the Micah 6:8 vision and have led the way in many justice and serving opportunities. This moment in life can be both amazing and hard, and our community of students have shown love for each other and for spreading the love of Jesus to our community and beyond.

4th-6th Grade

Our 4th, 5th & 6th Grade Ministry is the starting point for students in our Student Ministries. The large group gatherings on the weekend are amazing! There’s solid teaching, group discussions, great music, and lots of activities!

Sunday School

9:30 - 10:30  AM

Children aged 2 to Grade 5 are invited to participate classes with stories, games, crafts and singing that introduce them to the love of God in age appropriate ways.

The Sunday school program runs from September 11, 2016 to June 4, 2017 with the exception of some long weekends.  Please note there will be no Sunday school on October 9th.

How do I register my child?

On the first Sunday morning your arrive at the church, please register your child at the Children's Ministry Desk in the foyer. We use a name tag system to ensure the safety of your child.  After your initial registration you will find name tags available for pick up at the desk. Once your child has a name tag you may proceed to the children's ministry wing of the church to find your child's class.  A teacher will be there to meet your child.  (Exit process...)

We serve

The perfect God

We serve a good and perfect God. The nations are His dwelling and our lives are His vessels. We have compassion for the poor, and our hearts are open to the rich. We believe God wants to prosper those who believe and are generous for His purpose. There are many ways to get involved with serving at Voyage. Wether you give financially, or give with your time, gifts and talents, we encourage you to be generous and spread the word of God in every way you can. Visit our "Ministry" page to check out our current serving opportunities.

Give to Voyage

God influences the world through his people. He gives to us so He can give through us. The Bible tells us that everything we have is a gift from God (1 Chronicles 29:14). As you give both faithfully and willingly, the world is changed for the glory of God: the gospel is preached, lives are touched, people are fed, bodies are healed, churches are built; and you, in turn, are blessed by God so that you can give again.
