NKMB is a solidly multi-generational church family and this is reflected in our Sunday morning gatherings.  Our desire is that all who attend will feel welcomed and experience God’s love through their interaction with others. Q:What should I wear?
A: Anything from casual to semi-formal is the norm at NKMB due to our diverse church family, and yes shorts and sandals are fine in the summer. 

Q: Will anyone stare at me if I wear jeans?
A: Only if they’re really nice jeans.

Q: Is there assigned seating?
A: No. Sit wherever you want.

Q: Do I need to speak German to attend here?
A: If you do, then some of our Pastors are in trouble.  As the congregation at NKMB includes many members who were raised with German as their primary language, we offer a dedicated German language ministry that includes a full worship service running alongside our Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings. Other programming, including our 11am worship service and youth & children's ministry is in English.

Q: What do I do during Communion?
A: Approximately once month we celebrate Communion during our Sunday Service. Our method of celebration involves cubes of bread and small cups of grape juice are distributed to the congregation by the caregivers. Participation is open to those who understand the meaning, are committed believers, and are in a healthy relationship with their church family.  Please feel free to simply pass the plate along if you do not feel this is you.

Q: Will I be asked to say anything/do anything during the service?
A: No. Sometimes we invite the congregation to stand, but that’s about it.

Q: What does Sunday School for all ages mean?
A:  Children & youth attend classes organized by age, while a number of options are available for adults including video series, lecture style classes, & discussion groups. All Sunday School Classes take place from 9:30am - 10:30am before the 11am worship service. Please ask the ushers for directions in the foyer. note: Sunday School options run from September - May

Q: Do I need to sign up ahead for anything?
A: Children Grade 6 & under attending Sunday School must be
registered by parent/guardian at the Children’s Ministry Table in the foyer for their protection.

Q: Is childcare available during the service?
A: Childcare is available for children during the service. For more information please consult the Children's Ministry deskin the foyer. Childcare is available from September - May. A room for nursing mothers is also available, and a video feed of our service is broadcast in the foyer for those "special" moments when you feel the need to walk with your child out of the sanctuary.

Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: The musical worship at NKMB is intentionally designed to encourage the congregation to participate in singing. Whether we are singing modern worship songs or traditional hymns, our worship leaders strive for excellence in welcoming the congregation to be a part of what is happening on stage. On most Sundays you can expect to see a full band (guitars, bass, drums, piano) and many singers leading, although sometimes we do switch things up and try something different!

Q: What if I arrive late?
A: Just quietly walk in and find a seat. If the sanctuary appears full, feel free to ask an usher for assistance.

Q: Where can I find information about church programing when visiting on a Sunday morning?
A: Along the north wall of the foyer you will find a bulletin board featuring upcoming church events. Our Welcome Centre is located on the West Side of the foyer beside the Children's Ministry table.
