Total: 17.500.-
Note: These cost calculations are approximates as all building material has to be petitioned to the authorities and final costs are only known once permission to buy the material has been granted. Notwithstanding, the BIC leaders felt that the estimates they gave us would cover what is needed. A lot of bang for the buck.
Fundraising: to be determined.
How does NKMB as a church connect to this project? How do we create a meaningful relationship besides giving money?
- We could organize a group to travel to Cuba sometime during 2010. Participants would visit some of these churches, participate in a service, present in the service and perhaps help with painting some of the facilities.
- The church at La Guarapata is forming a baseball team as part of their community outreach. Maybe our visiting group could play a game of baseball with the kids and youth there. We could also bring along the gloves, balls and bats for the team and leave it with them.
- We could organize Spanish classes before the group leaves to show the Cuban people we care and want to connect with our brothers and sisters in Cuba. Even a few words in their language will show them that we care.
- Maybe we could also learn a Cuban song and sing it with them or practice the Lords prayer in Spanish to pray (read) it together with them.
This list is only a suggestion. Other ideas are most welcome.
