Church Family News


On November 4th our church executive team made the decision to follow the guidance we received from our denominational leadership board to move to online-only gatherings until Code Red is lifted in the Winnipeg area.

  • Sincere Condolences to Wilhelm & Frida Giesbrecht after the death of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Helena Giesbrecht, née Reimer, on January 13th in Paraguay
  • Women’s Bible study will dive into the book of Hebrews verse by verse with Jen Wilkin. Through the New Testament letter, learn how Christ is the substance of the shadowy truths the Old Testament records. Visit www.nkmb.org/about/women for more information and to register. Study Options: 
              • 20 week, one hour per week study, beginning January 18 ending June 14 from 8pm-9pm
              • 10 week, 2 hour/ session ZOOM study Mondays 7-9pm beginning January 25
              • 10 week, 2 hour/ session ZOOM study Wednesdays 9:15-11:15am beginning January 27
  • Reminder to those involved in the Christmas Pageant to please return the Christmas Costumes to the Church Office Monday - Friday between 8am and 4pm

  • Mom’s group is meeting weekly via ZOOM. Information can be found on the Facebook page “NKMB Mom’s Group” or contact Rachel deRoo

  • MBCC is a faith based Nursery school that offers an introduction to German while helping to prepare children for Kindergarten. We offer two programs, M-W-F ($95/mth) or T-Th ($75/mth), from 9:15-11:15am, September - May (observing RETSD holidays). We will be holding our registration for the 2021-22 year on Wednesday, March 3 from 6-7 pm. Enter at Door #1 (curb side will be used if necessary). $50 registration fee and one month’s tuition required at registration. • for Arthur Boschman in HSC, Lydia Reimer in Concordia Hospital, Willi Giesbrecht and Hans Pettker who are at home suffering from cancer

• for Maria Rempel in Park Manor and Peter Janzen in Middlechurch PC Home

• for the ministry of Community Roots as they have to adapt their strategies during this time

• for your next door neighbours, that God would comfort them and meet their needs

• with praise to God for all he blessed NKMB Church with over the past year

• for wisdom for our pastors as they walk alongside people who are hurting, confused, and alone

• for Union Gospel Mission who’s Princess Street location has been able to remain open 24 hours a day during the pandemic. Pray for all their volunteers who are being the hands and feet of Jesus

• as we enter 2021, that we are filled with God’s peace that passes understanding and we keep our eyes fixed on Him

• for peace in Lebanon and other regions of the Middle East that are plagued by violence and upheaval
