An Easter Journey at NKMB

This Easter, we invite you to a two-part series exploring the profound irony of the cross and the explosive hope of the empty tomb. From the thorns of the curse to the flourishing of the Tree of Life, join us as we trace the story of our redemption.

Good Friday

April 3 | 9:15 & 11:00 am

On Good Friday, we remember the weight of the crown. In Genesis, thorns represented the curse.  We gather to reflect on the moment that very curse was pressed upon the head of the King of Kings. Through His sacrifice, the symbol of our brokenness became the instrument of our atonement.

  • The Experience: A reflective and interactive worship gathering featuring communion and a deep look at the story of redemption.

  • NKMB Kids: A special program with teaching stations is available for Ages 1 through Grade 5 for the duration of the service.

Easter Sunday

April 5 9:15 & 11:00 am

The story doesn't end with the thorns. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the Resurrection - the moment the power of the curse was broken forever. As we look to Revelation 22, we see Eden restored and the Tree of Life blooming once again. The disintegration of the fall is undone by the life of the Risen King.

  • The Experience: A celebratory worship gathering filled with music and an inspiring message about the hope found in the empty tomb.

  • NKMB Kids: Our standard kids' programming will run as usual. Click here for more details.

Why "Crown of Thorns"?

The crown placed on Jesus' head in mockery was actually the perfect symbol of His mission. He who knew no sin became sin for us, wearing the "thorns and thistles" of our world so that we might walk in the garden of His grace. This weekend, we move from the shadow of the thorns into the light of the Resurrection.
